Dr. Sheila Dobee, a leader in dental excellence, has dedicated nearly two decades to advancing pain-free, safe, and natural dentistry. She has built a top-rated practice and received numerous accolades, including the ‘Bay Area’s Outstanding Woman of the Year’ award and the California Patient Choice award. She brings her high energy, humor and expertise to the Bay Area Dental Expo for her second year as our official Host and Master of Ceremonies.

Benjamin Wu, DDS, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Operating Officer for ADA Forsyth, advances patient care through materials science. His research develops biomaterials for therapy, diagnostics, and digital 3D manufacturing. His innovations include smart orthodontic aligners, intraoral bioelectronics, and sensors linking oral microbiome to health. He brings his insight and expertise to the Bay Area Dental Expo as our Keynote Speaker on Friday, August 22, 2025.

He shares his dynamic and humorous presentations nationwide via the Catapult Speakers' Bureau and is returning to the Bay Area Dental Expo by popular demand.

Passionate about women in leadership, she mentors young women pursuing healthcare careers.

Poskozim, DDS, FSCD, CDP teaches dental and medical audiences what they need to know and what they need to do to provide mobile dental care to patients in the comfort of their home environments. Through geriatric house call dentistry, clinicians provide dental care when, where and how it meets the individual patient’s needs.

Dr. Malamed, a Bronx native, graduated from NYU College of Dentistry in 1969 and completed his anesthesiology residency at Montefiore Hospital. After serving in the U.S. Army Dental Corps, he joined USC’s Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry in 1973, where he is now a Professor of Anesthesia & Medicine. A Diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology, he has received multiple awards and authored over 140 scientific papers and 17 textbook chapters.

Margaret Scarlett, DMD, is a dentist, futurist, and thought leader for Digital Transformation Partners. Retired from the US Public Health Service, she analyzed large population-based data sets for the Health Resources and Service Administration, the US Census, the CDC, and Health and Human Services. Dr. Scarlett continues to work with health systems, large DSOs, and organizations on AI in dentistry to advance digital transformation of dentistry.

Amy Wood is a best selling author, speaker, consultant, coach and founder of Copper Penny Consulting. She has a background in Healthcare Information Technology, HIPAA Education, Risk Assessment and Data Breach Consultation. After her own information was compromised in a Data Breach, Amy made it her mission to ensure it doesn’t happen to anyone else. She returns to the Expo this year to turn compliance courses into an entertaining and educational conversation.

When and where is the Bay Area Dental Expo taking place?

The Bay Area Dental Expo is scheduled for Friday, August 22, 2025 and Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.

What can I expect at the Expo?

The Expo is a pioneering event focusing on dental innovation and the future of the dental profession. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with dental professionals from Northern California, attend more than 15 in-person presentations across two stages, engage in lively networking, and gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and materials.

The content is carefully curated to showcase emerging technologies such as digital imagery, 3D printing, machine learning, AI-assisted diagnostics and design, and more.

The Bay Area Dental Expo is produced by the Santa Clara County Dental Society in collaboration with the California Dental Association and a coalition of Bay Area Dental Societies including Contra Costa County Dental Society, Fresno-Madera District Dental Society, Marin County Dental Society, Monterey Bay Dental Society, Mid-Peninsula Dental Society, San Francisco Dental Society, San Mateo County Dental Society, and Southern Alameda County Dental Society.

Will CE credits be awarded for attending the Bay Area Dental Expo?

All of our main stage speaker presentations will provide CE credits based on the length of the presentation.

Dentists and their teams will be able to obtain CE credit for these presentations.

How will continuing education credits be issued?

Continuing education credits will be issued by the Santa Clara County Dental Society. More information will be provided soon.

How much are tickets for dental team members?

Early bird tickets for dental team members are $59. Regular price is $79 starting on April 1. Late registration price is $119, starting on June 1.

Where can I get an event guidebook?

Printed and digital programs will be available at the event and via this website on the day of the event.

Am I guaranteed a seat for the speaker/presentation I am interested in?

Seats in the theater(s) for each presentation are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are not guaranteed. The main stage accommodates 650 seats. Stage 2 accommodates 150 seats.

Can I reserve or save seats for presentations?

Seats can not be reserved or saved. Once an attendee leaves a seat, that seat will become available.

Is parking available at the convention center?

Yes, parking at the Santa Clara Convention Center is free for Expo attendees.

Where is the nearest hotel, and are there group rates available?
